Meet Alder & Beam, our invented surveying client. Plotline is the marketing service; the examples below show the work we could prepare for a practice like yours.

A fictional practice. A practical example of the work.

The engagement, item by item

What you’re looking at.

Start with the first two items to see the writing and design. The rest shows how the work is planned, measured and reviewed.

01
For your website

A service page

A complete page explaining your survey service.

Shows who it suits, what it covers and how to request a quote. This example is for Level 3 surveys of older homes in Bristol and Bath.

02
For your homebuyers

A buyer guide

An article answering a question buyers search for.

Helps readers understand their options and find the relevant service. Here, we explain Level 2 versus Level 3 for a Victorian terrace.

03
Your first three months

A 90-day work plan

A schedule showing what happens and when.

See how we would establish a baseline, agree priorities, create content and review progress within the plan’s limits.

04
Your monthly update

A progress report

An example of how we would explain the numbers.

Covers website visits, enquiries and what they mean. This is a reporting template with clearly labelled made-up calculations, not client results.

05
Your AI-search visibility

AI-search checks

The buyer questions we would check in AI tools.

Shows what we would ask and how we would record mentions or links to your practice. These example checks have not been run.

06
Before publication

An approval checklist

The details we would confirm with your practice.

Sets out the links, service information and professional checks needed before real content goes on your website.

07
Behind the facts

Sources & references

Where the factual guidance comes from.

Links to the RICS and Google references used in the drafts. Your surveyor still reviews the technical detail for your practice.

These are example deliverables, not a promise that all seven are new pieces of content every month. The monthly plan defines the scope and timing.

Why the words matter

From a general promise
to a useful next step.

The aim is to help the right buyer recognise the service and understand what to do next. Here is one invented example.

Before: generic service copy

“We provide comprehensive, professional building surveys across the South West. Our expert team offers complete peace of mind with the highest-quality reports at competitive prices. Contact us today.”

After: a specific buyer, service and next step

“Buying an older home in Bristol or Bath? A Level 3 survey can help you understand its condition, the implications of visible defects and which questions need further investigation. Share the property listing and your plans to discuss the right survey level and receive a property-specific quote.”

Both examples are invented. This illustrates an editorial choice, not a measured improvement in enquiries.
